Blackberry Tour – Release Date – Price

blackberry tour Blackberry Tour Release Date Price

Blackberry Tour - Front

The Blackberry world is waiting for the release of the Blackberry Tour, a world edition, in their own country. There was an announcement a few days ago from Verizon about their release followed by Sprint countering with an almost exact offering, knowing that Verizon and Sprint had an agreement on the shipping of Blackberry Tour.

Both Verizon and Sprint have announced the Blackberry Tour release date of  12 July and a matching price of $200 based on a two year contract. Sprint as a matter of fact made their announcement exactly one day after Verizon. Everyone thought there would be some miraculous appearance of the Storm's sequel but know all eyes and ears are somehow  fixed on the next-in-line  promise. Some features that make the handset worth the wait include: Fast performance following the 256 mb of on board ram and revved up media playing capabilities. Service providers would be adding their particular music and tv services to their editions. Each handset comes with gps  and navigation functionality supported by the service of the particular company. Blackberry's push email and high grade web browsing still brings to the Blackberry Tour the famous brand selling points and including the well known and duly expected Messaging features not forgetting the added access to facebook and twitter sites.

Stay tuned because a host of in depth reviews are sure to Tour the web in the weeks to come and they will be published for sure here at the Blackberry Lovers website. Do you think that Blackberry Tour will succeed with the mid-end consumers? ... or will it be able to compete with high-end devices?

Tips for Blackberry devices: More RIM speed

GreyhoundRace 300x167 Tips for Blackberry devices: More RIM speedDo you require your Blackberry to go@warp.speed? Here's a couple of pointers to get you cruising and to be used on your Blackberry Device, these are tips for Blackberry Storm and Blackberry Curve versions mainly. If you can't put this tips working on your Blackberry, please comment on this post. So, check this tips for Blackberry below:

For super fast access to pictures: Pictures should be moved onto the microSD on your Blackberry, try to get a microSD with 16gb - despite this won't affect this tip, it will get more space to your device to store all your stuff. Create and move into sub-folders for different categories and when you view, it should show the folders you can choose, making handling faster.

Speedy Web browsing: Turning Java off, you will still be prompted when needs be to turn it on again.Turn off HTML tables - This is older technology and not as widely used.Keep browser optimized for Blackberry and not for  PC. "Berryspeed"  is a cool little app that measures bandwidth speed. Get it at  http://ota.deltatech.com.mx/.

Faster keystrokes: Hold Alt while using the trackweel for Page Up or Down. To go to the  Top of the Page  press T, and to go to the bottom press B.

It's an all-downhill ride when  resources are free: Please note - Pressing the red phone button doesn't close a program. Instead it will run in the background continuing processor and memory usage. To curb unwanted utilization go to options>Exit when in a particular program to be closed. To see whats grading your speed press simultaneously- ALT and Escape keys, and letting go of the Escape key only,  you are able to scroll through the list of the running applications. And this I said on the last paragraph applies even to Nokia cellphones, Symbian S60 3rd and 5th Edition, or Sony Ericsson Satio that runs with Symbian S60.

Vlingo: free Voice commands & Dictation for BlackBerry

vlingo1 Vlingo: free Voice commands & Dictation for BlackBerryVlingo's one of those Applications- It's software integration offers much advancement in terms of BlackBerry voice recognition technology. Although using Vlingo is free, there is an upgrade available extending to even more functionality. Free and Plus Ver.3 will respectively enable voice recognition for the following:

  • Free to Search the Web.
  • Free to Make a phone call.
  • Free to Update Twitter and Facebook.
  • Free to make personal notes.
  • Free to open and access all Applications no matter if they BlackBerry native or 3rd Party.
  • Free to Send and Reply to Text Messages when Contacts have Vlingo.
  • UPGRADE enables you to use Text Messaging and Email for any Contact.

What I like about this package is that most of it is for free. I can really take my time and see if it grabs me and I'm not forced to pay for the upgrade, which in my opinion is a bit steep at $17.99.

Requirements: RIM OS 2.0+; Supports UK users (beta) and US users on Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon. You are required to have a working internet connection and the program might run a bit slower on a weak signal or slow connection.

Download options and Full Support is available at the Vlingo site which you can find here.

STORM II – Here we go again!

The Latest Storm II News And Photo's:

Close to the middle of last month Engadget mobile got their hands on some leaked photo's of the Storm II. Any of These looking familiar?

crustys2b STORM II Here we go again!Later RIM Corporation handed over a live model of the work in progress STORM II and those guys cut us all some slack by publishing more pics and a not so inspiring video(software still very beta!) but after some RIM movement, they withdrew the media leaving just a short type review.

Good News is some images are still available at other net sources. So without any more delay here it is ladies & gentlemen, the STORM II giving another backstage preview while being prepared for the Big Show.

There are both similarities and changes  from Storm to STORM II and some of the main features are: NO MORE SURE PRESS,wifi connectivity,a slicker design and stable screen. Also included: a 3.2 mega pixel camera and a 3.5 mm audio jack, a usb port for charging and a metal battery cover. I for one am expecting a marvelous comeback from Rim and I could not help but wonder if the rumours concerning the June release date would be realized. I'm sure we are all waiting together in anticipation.

Urban Theme Review

11 2 Urban Theme ReviewUrban Premium Theme from Elecite.

I just came across a theme called Urban and boy, was I impressed! It is available for Blackberry 9000 Bold, 8900 Curve and 9500 Storm.

One feature that makes this theme really cool is the wallpaper displayed, being  made up of 10 different cities, that are auto-rotated by the hour.

Although I'd imagine that this could be very bad for processing speeds, word is that Urban Theme achieves the opposite: It's been engineered to keep your device performance just the way RIM intended- Fast and Ferocious!

All graphics are made with intense quality and this is the theme I want when I get down and spend sum quality time with my device.Features of the Home Screen: On the bottom corner the control pad is customizable with 8 icon's arranged and styled in conjunction with  an Indicator's hub displaying battery strength, signal strength and Time.

Urban might make your step a little lighter, but at $5.99 it is what your Berry wants and because it is such a glammo theme it is currently only available for OS 4.6 and up. There is also slight differences in feature when it comes to different Blackberry models.collages 2 300x277 Urban Theme Review

Elecite also has a host of other high end Themes to offer.I will  be taking my time  to gaze through their store.

Good Morning with Coffee and easy 2 read Font:

It's early and time to decide what your day will be like and although it's very unlikely I'll be with you first thing,  here's the load down on how to change your Berry's font, so get updated by making life's Coms-Central sweet.capture2 300x270 Good Morning with Coffee and easy 2 read Font:

You might be aware that the Theme you choose customises the Font automatically and that the Font-Colour is Theme specific. If you want to change your font  beyond the Theme spec you need to:

  • Goto the Blackberry Device Options.
  • Then goto Screen/Keyboard.

There are four sub-sections to be changed:

Font family: The default Font is BBAlpha Sans, but there are a number more you can choose from.

Font size: The Fonts you choose in the Font Family category all have differing sizes so with this option you can set it to  perfect fit.

Font style: Normal, Bold or Italic? Customize as you like.

Font smoothing: Makes fonts look slightly better.

You can see the changes as of immediate effect with the addition of the famous Font sentence, The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, which acts as a preview tool.

Adding  custom Font isn't available right now, but keep an eye out for future updates.
