I think that there are a lot of people not know what’s the real difference between the BlackBerry Storm 9500 and the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550. First I would like to mention that the BlackBerry Storm has 9500 been launched on November 2008 while the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 has been launched on November 2009 but this difference was quite expected because the Blackberry Storm 2 9550 is kind of an update to the BlackBerry Storm 9500.

Is kind of weird to hear that the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is lighter weighting 155 grams while the BlackBerry Storm 9550 weights 160 grams but this is not a big difference that you can feel keeping them into your hands.

Both phones are having a 3.25 inches and 360x480 pixels also featuring an accelerometer. Also, both are having a 3.5 mm audio jack which is probably one of the most important feature at these devices.

You should know that the BlackBerry Storm 9500 comes with 1GB of internal memory while the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 comes with 2GB of internal memory. Both phones have a microSD slot card but the BlackBerry Storm 9500 comes with a 8GB card included supporting up to 16GB while the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 doesn’t.

The BlackBerry Storm 9500 comes with a 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connection while the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 has a 3G HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA; EV-DO RevA 3.1Mbps connection. I think that the biggest minus at the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is that it doesn’t have a Wi-Fi connection so they put this feature at the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550.

Both are featuring a 3.15 MP and 2048x1536 pixels with autofocus and LED flash camera so here wasn’t made any modification. Another common feature is the regular BlackBerry OS and the GPS connectivity.

As a last thing, I would like to tell you that the prices for a new unlocked BlackBerry Storm 9500 $343 while the prices for a new unlocked BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 are starting from $469.
