This is a initial and purely technical comparison between Blackberry Torch 9860 and Samsung Google Nexus S.

Resulting that Blackberry is heavier, and smaller. Regarding the display, Blackberry is equipped with a 3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels, which is kind of weaker compared to the 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels that Google Nexus has. 

The advantage for Blackberry is the internal memory, being equipped with a 4 GB storage with 768 MB RAM, which is bigger then Google Nexus's 16GB storage and 512 MB RAM. The rest of the features are approximately the same, except Blackberry looses ground on the operating system part, because  Google Nexus is equipped with Android Gingerbread.

Resulting that Blackberry is heavier, but thicker. Regarding the display, Blackberry is equipped with a 3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels, which is kind of weaker compared to the 3 inch LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 320 x 480 pixels that Sony Ericsson has. But, Blackberry has a bigger resolution and a larger display.

The advantage for Blackberry is the internal memory, being equipped with a 4 GB storage with 768 MB RAM, which is bigger then Sony Ericsson's 1 GB (320 MB user available) and 512 MB RAM. Those from RIM officially launched much awaited models BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Bold 9930, at the BlackBerry World event. One of the most important news is BlackBerry 7 OS .
These are two models that differ only through that 9900 offers 4G connectivity, while 9930 is a global model, with quad band GSM and dual band CDMA.
BlackBerry Bold 9930 and 9900 are the thinnest phones released so far by RIM, with a thickness of 10.5 mm. The design is premium, with a 2.8-inch capacitive touch display, 640 x 480 pixels, full QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad.
The smartphones have sufficient power thanks to 1.2 GHz processorand 768 MB RAM memory and the on board memory is 8GB plus support for micoSD.
Other specifications are a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording and flash, integrated GPS, NFC for electronic payment and the 1230 mAh battery.
BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Bold 9900 also come with the new BlackBerry 7 OS, which provides a faster experience, voice search and a better browser. The phones will be released probably this summer.

BoyGeniusReport obtained the first images with the BlackBerry Thunder smartphone, the first device on which RIM offers touchscreen (as anticipated).

It announces a serious competitor for the iPhone, but currently the specifications were not disclosed. Perhaps we will encounter a complete smartphone, as shown by BlackBerry Bold: GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, camera, numerous applications. The only difference is the touch screen that replaced the QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry Thunder will be released on Vodafone and Verizon, on Verizon first. We expect the official press release from Vodafone in particular.

The new Thunder , according to unofficial information, is based on a new version of the BlackBerry operating system, optimized for touch. This is supported by a powerful processor running at 624 MHz. The 2.5 inch screen has 360 x 480 pixels resolution.

Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled on August 3, a new touchscreen smartphone, BlackBerry Torch, supposed to compete with iPhone, informs Yahoo Finance. BlackBerry Torch will be available in the U.S. on 12 August, priced at $ 199 (150 euros) with a 2-year subscription to the American operator AT&T.

Analysts say RIM needs to renew its product range to attract not only professional customers and to compete with iPhone and smartphones that use the Android platform, developed by Google. Blackberry Torch 9800 allows users to type SMS on the touch screen or keypad slider, and it is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, flash, integrated GPS for geolocation-based applications. The launch comes at a time when UAE and Saudi Arabia have announced plans to block certain features of the BlackBerry, worried it would be a security risk, because they can't monitor some of the encrypted data.

United Arab Emirates have threatened to block several of the Blackberry services starting October, if RIM does not give them access to encrypted data.

This is also a technical comparison, because while Samsung Exhibit 4G was already been launched, the Blackberry Torch 9850 is still preparing its release.

The dimensions are a little different, Blackberry measuring 120 x 62 x 11.5 mm and weighting 135 g, while Samsung measures 119 x 58 x 13 mm and weights 125 g. So, there is a little difference, Blackberry being a little heavier and at the same time bigger.

Regarding the display, besides the fact that Samsung's screen is AMOLED, Blackberry has a 3.7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels, while Samsung has a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels. That takes us to the camera chapter, where Blackberry wins, with a 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, with autofocus compared to Samsung's 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, with LED flash.

Another difference is the CPU memory: Blackberry is equipped with a 1.2 GHz processor, wile Samsung has a 1 GHz processor. So in the end, I would choose Blackberry Torch 9850 instead of  Samsung Exhibit 4G, but that is only me.

First, both work, obviously with BlackBerry operating system.There are two smartphones with QWERTY keyboard and 2.46 inchTFT display with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. 

There aren't any size differences , both have 60x109x14 mm, but Curve 8520 is two grams heavier than the heir (106, 104 grams). Battery life is 4 and a half hours talk time and 408 hours (Curve 8520) and 456 hours (Curve 3G 9300 -348 hours in 3G) in standby . The internal memory is 256MB (expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card), the camera has a resolution of 2MP, no flash. None of the models has a secondary camera for video calls. Both Curve 8520 and 3G 9300 have Bluetooth , GPRS, WiFi and no radio. The important difference is that 8520 hasn't 3G.

If in the case of Curve 8520 screen size is acceptable, we can say that we had more pretensions from 9300 3G.
The conclusion is that if you want a phone like Curve 8520, but with 3G and USB 2.0, then you can opt for Blackberry 3G 9300. But the price depends on the options.

If you live anywhere in this planet, you'd know that the BlackBerry Playbook has been launched, amid much hype, both good and bad.

Whatever you may think of this device, it's important to note that tablets aren't for everyone. Those can afford smartphone and want something to go with them would enjoy the company of a bigger screen with similar functionality, and that's in my opinion, what a tablet like the Playbook is supposed to do.

The major criticism entered when it was found that the BlackBerry tablet does not allow for email if a BlackBerry smartphone is not present. This is silly, what if there is a network connection available RIM? Besides coming a bit late to race, it still lacks a few details that can very well fixed with a software update.

We can then glimpse into the hardware features, which will definitely not change. The specs that clearly jump to my eyes are the 7" touchscreen display, a 1.5GHz processor and the QNX operating system.

I have already played with the BlackBerry Playbook tablet before, so I can say that the user interface is excellent, the specs are appropriate, it's only this email issue that needs to be solved.

As I was talking in the past, the BlackBerry Torch had a very big release, there are a lot of people who heard about it, even who ever had any RIM product but most of them are smartphone owners.

We all know that RIM made a very good job with this new phone. They made something unique that was never done before. Yes, I know there are a lot of other touchscreen smartphones with a full physical QWERTY keyboard too but all of those phones have the sliding keyboard at one side while at the BlackBerry Torch, the keyboard pops out from below.

I recommend you watching YouTube reviews and unboxing videos to make a better idea about this phone and to realize if it’s really worth it thinking about what you need from a smartphone and what does this phone actually “do”.

As I was saying, this phone doesn’t bring anything new on the visual aspect comparing to its predecessor but there are some major changes made in this phone that you should really read if you’re considering in buying such a phone.

As I said, this phone will come with the new BlackBerry OS6 which might be the reason of why they also doubled the RAM memory on the new BlackBerry Bold 9780.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9780 also comes with HVGA display, full QWERTY keyboard (which I have to say that it feels awesome in hands and it will be a pleasure to write text messages, e-mails and so on), an optical trackpad which will allow you to browse the menu much easier. This phone also comes with 3G with HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS so it definitely fits perfectly in the internet world. It will also have a microSD slot card but we don’t know its capacity yet. There are also no specs about its processor on the internet but I think there will be some rumors about that too soon.
