Choose your mobile phone provider from the download list and then select your device model to download the appropriate software.
To check which phone model you own, go to Options> About.
Download software for the phone model and install it on your computer.
3. Installing new software on your BlackBerry device
Connect BlackBerry via USB, launch Desktop Manager software and it should detect that the device is capable of being updated.

If you do not detect this, follow these steps:
Delete the Vendor.xml  file from c: \ program files \ common files \research in motion \ apploader
Open the Loader.exe in the same directory above.
Remove the battery from the device and put it back. Connect your BB and IMMEDIATELY click the "Next" - this is to make sure that the USB port will show :UNKNOWN. If it shows the BB PIN that means you ran the steps above too slow. If after several attempts this option does not work, open a command prompt, go to the directory specified above and run the following command: Loader.exe / nojvm
Now it should show to update version 5.0 available.

Make Google Talk to work on Blackberry when this error appears: Service Not Enabled for this handheld. The steps for resolving this problem are:

1. Backup your Blackberry phone
2. You download the service book containing gTalk from the following address: http://www.blackberryweb.cz/?file_id=5
3. In Blackberry Desktop Manager, installed on your PC, go toDevice -> Restore
4.In Backup folder select the path to the directory you saved the file above, check the Select Device settings and then check the Service Book
5. Resend service books from your provider if you are missing some email accounts
6. Restart Blackberry phone (optional).

If you follow these steps you will get rid of this problem, I've tested it, and it works, and I hope you will make Google Talk work on your Blackberry smartphone.

2-3. Copy files net_rim_bb_appworld.cod,net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.  cod and Java Loader.exe in the following folder (depending on the operating system on your computer) (In Windows Vista "C: \ Users \ (Your User) or Windows XP" C: \ Documents andSettings \ (your username);

4. Start CMD (Windows Key + R si apoi tasteaza CMD si apoi Enter);

5. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer via USB cable;

6. On the PC in the CMD window type: javaloader load net_rim_bb_appworld _resource_en.cod and press Enter;

After executing the previous command type: load-u javaloadernet_rim_bb _appworld.cod and again Enter, your Blackberry will reboot and the AppWorld application will be installed on the device (tested on 9000 and Curve 8900),  for the Blackberry Storm.

This tips is for those who's trying to find Email signatures setting. I myself need some time to find it the first time i'm using Blackberry This feature is available for email accounts that are integrated with the BlackBerry® Internet Service and/or associated with a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. I'm using BIS with OS 5, but there's tips for other type of users too, thanks to Blackberry Blog.

A. How to customize your email signature for a BlackBerry Internet Service-integrated email address

To modify the email signature of an email address that is integrated with the BlackBerry Internet Service, complete the following steps:

If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0:

1. On the home screen, select Email
2. If required, log in to access your BlackBerry Internet Service account
3. Highlight the email address you would like to customize, then press the Menu key and select Edit
4. Specify your new signature and click Save to save the change.

If you are using a BlackBerry 6-enabled smartphone:

1. On the home screen, select Setup
2. Select Email Accounts
3. Select Internet Mail Account
4. If required, log in to access your BlackBerry Internet Service account
5. Highlight the email address you would like to customize, then press the Menu key and select Edit
6. Specify your new signature and click Save to save the change.

B. How to customize your email signature for a BlackBerry Enterprise Server-integrated email address

To modify the email signature of an email address that is associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, complete the following steps:

1. On the home screen, select Messages
2. Press the Menu key and select Options
3. Select one of the following steps based on your BlackBerry Device Software version:
a) If you are using BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0, select Email Settings
b) If you are using a BlackBerry 6-enabled smartphone, select Email Preferences
4. If the Message Services field appears, specify the email account that is activated against a BlackBerry Enterprise Server
5. Enable the Use Auto Signature if it isn’t enabled already
6. Type a signature, Press the Menu key and select Save.

C. How to customize your email signature using BlackBerry® Desktop Manager

You can also use BlackBerry® Desktop Manager to set up an email signature for your BlackBerry smartphone if it’s associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Follow the instructions below depending on which version of BlackBerry Desktop Software for PC you are using:

• BlackBerry Desktop Software for PC 4.x to 5.x – Select Email Settings from the main menu and you’ll be able to enter your desired signature in a text field.
• BlackBerry Desktop Software for PC 6.0 – Select Device, followed by Device Options, then Enterprise Email, which will allow you to enter your desired signature in a text field.

Tip: If your company uses BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you may have access to BlackBerry® Web Desktop Manager, a tool similar to BlackBerry Desktop Software that allows you to customize your BlackBerry account details – including your email signature – from a website using your desktop web browser.

After specifying your email signature using the instructions above, send yourself an email and you will be able to see your new signature appended to the sent email.

Here we are at the 12th edition of the Questions and Answers “series” and this post is a little special being compared to the other ones. This time, I’m going to try to pick only questions users have about the BlackBerry accessories and answer them in this post.

Here we are talking again about some usual questions that the BlackBerry users usually have and this time, I will take only questions about the BlackBerry 8800 series so if you have such a phone and even if you didn’t have any issue by now, you should still read this article because it might be useful someday.

1) Q: I just bought my phone and right now there is no app on it and somewhere on the screen it shows me the number 507 which should be an error’s identification number; what should I do?
Q: Well, if you have a warranty for your phone, you will solve this because you should go to the place where you bought your phone and tell them your issue so you will get it repaired or replaced. You should read the returning policy.

2) Q: When I call someone, my phone number isn’t showed so how can I undo that?
A: You must press the green key then press the menu key and select options then general options and scroll down to “Restrict my identity” and change it to “Never”.

3) Q: Many of the apps that came with my phone disappeared; how can I get them back?
A: All you need to do is just to re-load the apps; it has nothing to do with a restore or a backup.

1) Q: It looks like I did something to my phone because the DM doesn’t recognize it anymore, how can I fix this?
A: You should pull the battery and run the update but then you will have to install each app separately which is a hard process.

2) Q: I need to find someone’s number that was not on my contact list and he called me in the past. All I can view is missed calls and e-mails. I want to add it to my contact list, how can I do this?
A: There are two ways: either you press the green dial key and then you should see the 20 most recent calls or you can open your main Messages folder > Menu key > View Folders > Phone Call Logs.

3) Q: I have installed BB Messenger but it’s not shown in downloads or under any other icon, how can I use it?
A: If you hold the BlackBerry logo key, the BB Messenger should be seen in the app switcher ribbon that pops up. If it doesn’t that mean it’s not installed.
