nokia 5800 xpressmusic 2 Nokia 5800 vs BlackBerry StormHere it starts another series of comparisons between Nokia products and BlackBerry products. This time I want to tell you that I know everything about Nokia 5800 because I own such a phone of more than half of year. It’s funny to see that if you look at the launch date, they have been launch in the same year and also in the same month namely November 2008.

BlackBerry Storm looks to be a bit too big to fit perfectly in your hand but I tell you that Nokia 5800 is small enough to fit perfectly in your hands. Also, Nokia 5800 weights 109 grams while BlackBerry Storm weights 155 grams so I can say that Nokia 5800 is more comfortable.

The difference between the sizes of the touch screen displays is not too big because Nokia 5800 has a 3.2” 360x640 screen while the BlackBerry Storm has a 3.25” 360x480 screen.

Also, both phones are featuring an accelerometer but Nokia 5800 has that unique feature of Nokia namely the handwriting recognition but I tell you that it is not so efficient as you may expect to be.

Both phones are having 3.5mm audio jack and I tell you that I’m so thankful for this and also, Nokia 5800 has Stereo speakers while the BlackBerry Storm doesn’t and you really feel another quality of music at it.

Here you decide the winner because I don’t know what to say. BlackBerry Storm has an internal memory of 1GB while the Nokia 5800 has only 81MB of internal memory but it comes with a microSD card of 8GB which is big enough to store anything you want and if it isn’t you can add up to 16GB of external memory. BlackBerry Storm also has a microSD slot card.

Nokia 5800 has an ARM 11 434 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM memory while the BlackBerry Storm has a Qualcomm MSM7600 528 MHz processor and also 128 MB of RAM memory. As you can see, there is a difference at the processor which may be recognizable.

Nokia 5800 has a 4G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps connection while the BlackBerry Storm has a 3G HSDPA connection of 7.2 Mbps. What’s a very big minus from BlackBerry Storm is that it doesn’t get Wi-Fi connection while the Nokia 5800 does have a Wi-Fi connection.

Talking about photos, both phones are having a 3.15MP camera but Nokia 5800 has Carl Zeiss optics in plus than the BlackBerry Storm so there may be a difference or it should be.

BlackBerry Storm has the usual BlackBerry OS on it while Nokia 5800 has the famous Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5.

What’s cool is that the Nokia 5800 comes with 3 choices of colors namely red, blue and gray while BlackBerry Storm have been built only in black.

Both phones are featuring GPS connection and if you already have a Nokia 5800 and you want a good GPS application, I tell you that you should install Garmin on it because it works perfect, you can even check on YouTube for it.

Nokia 5800 has a 1320 mAh battery while BlackBerry Storm has a battery of 1400 mAh so there is a difference but I don’t think you may recognize it because BlackBerry probably also eats more from the battery because it has a screen that it’s a bit bigger than the one from Nokia 5800.

I must say that I was thinking the BlackBerry Storm is better than the Nokia 5800 but it isn’t as you see. You should know that according to eBay, the prices for a new unlocked Nokia 5800 are starting from $289 while the prices for a new unlocked BlackBerry Storm are starting from $299.
