I guess this time the BlackBerry Bold 9700 will have more advantages than the Nokia E71 but we’ll see about it. First I want to say that these phones are very similar but talking about the design, I prefer the BlackBerry Bold 9700 more. A big difference is that the Nokia E71 has been launched on June 2008 while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 has been launched on October 2009 so there is a noticeable difference of more than a year.
Also, Nokia E71 is heavier weighting 127 grams while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 weights 122 grams but this difference may not be noticed s it’s not a good point to compare.
The Nokia E71 comes with a 2.36 inches and 320x240 pixels display while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a 2.44 inches and 480x360 pixels so there should not be any doubts right here.
As usually, here I start to hate the Nokia E71 because of its 2.5mm audio jack but the BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with the regular 3.5mm audio jack so here is a very big plus for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 from me.
The Nokia E71 comes with 110 MB of internal memory and also a microSD slot card supporting up to 8 GB while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with an internal memory of 256 MB but it also comes with a microSD card of 2 GB and it also supports up to 16 GB.
Both phones are featuring 3G, Wi-Fi and also GPS connectivity so here you won’t have troubles making a choice between these two smartphones.
Some people are saying that this is not so important but you may still want to know what processors and RAM memory have the phones that you may buy and you don’t know what to choose so you should know that the Nokia E71 comes with the ARM 11 369 MHz processor while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 has a 624 MHz processor. Also, the Nokia E71 comes with 128 MB of RAM memory while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with 256 MB of RAM memory so here is another obvious win for the BlackBerry Bold 9700.
The Nokia E71 comes with the Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 v3.1 UI while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with the BlackBerry OS 5.0.
Both phones are featuring the 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus and LED flash camera but as I said, this shouldn’t be an important point to let you make a decision.
The Nokia E71 comes with a standard battery Li-Po of 1500 mAh (BP-4L) while the BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with a standard battery Li-Ion of 1500 mAh.
You should know that this is the last post of the comparisons between the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and also the Nokia E71. Anyway, I would also like to let you know that the prices for a new unlocked Nokia E71 are starting from $250 while the prices for a new unlocked BlackBerry Bold 9700 are starting from $399 so this shouldn’t be a though decision.
While I love my BB and my.E71, wouldn’t it make more sense to compare the E71 and the BB Bold 9000 and compare the E72 and the BB Bold 9700.
I wonder why this is left out. One obvious thing being Nokia E71 can receive radio signal broadcast, blackberry bold 9700 can’t. I love both but I still side Nokia due to this.
i have used nokia e71, bb bold 9700,9000, and even the iphone
and to tell yu the truth i find nokia e71 the most easiest and most efficient to use.
it is way better than the bb9700 but im not saying bb9700 is bad..but i wuld prefer nokia e71 over it anyday.
First of all Nokia is not a business phone. If you want your emails and email attachments not to open 80 % of the time pick Nokia E71. Last year I had a N97 and I had the worst time with that phone (stay away from it, if you like a phone thats a toy go for iphone 3g/3gs/4). The other thing that Bold9700 has (and any other BB for that matter) is free BBM messanger system that lets you communicate with anyone who has a BB (anywhere in the world) via text msg (including pics,songs etc.) FOR FREE as long as you have internet connection. I can go on and on but the review mentioned most of the attributes of the Bold 9700.
