At last we’re comparing two phones that are axed on the same public or at last they are supposed to be like this. Also, Nokia E71 have been launched on June 2008 while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 have been launched on September 2008 and also the design of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 looks much better than the Nokia E71’s design.
The Nokia E71 has a 2.36 inches 320x240 pixels and 16 M display while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes with a 2.4 inches 480x360 pixels 65K colors display so each phone has a plus at this “round”.
Also, both phones are featuring a physical full qwerty keyboard but talking about the navigation into your phone, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes with the famous trackball while the Nokia E71 has a five-way scroll key.
I will keep saying that the Nokia E71 has a 2.5mm audio jack which is a very big minus if you ask me while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
Nokia E71 comes with 110 MB of internal memory and it also has a microSD slot card supporting up to 8 GB while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has a ROM memory of 256 MB and also a microSD slot card supporting up to 16 GB so the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has a double storage memory talking about the internal memory and also the supported external memory.
Both phones are featuring the Wi-Fi internet connectivity but here is a very big minus from BlackBerry Curve 8900 namely that it doesn’t have a 3G connectivity comparing to the Nokia E71 who has a 3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps connectivity. Also, both phones are featuring GPS connectivity.
The Nokia E71 comes with the ARM 11 369 MHz processor while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has a 512 MHz processor. Also, the Nokia E71 comes with 128 MB of RAM memory while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has 256 of RAM memory so there is no doubt that the winner is BlackBerry Curve 8900.
Also, the Nokia E71 has the Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 v3.1 UI on it while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has the BlackBerry OS on it.
If you’re interested about the look of the phone, you should know that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has only the black color available while the Nokia E71 can be painted in white steel, grey steel, black or red.
You should know that both phones are coming with a camera of 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, LED flash.
In the last part, I want to say that the prices for a new unlocked Nokia E71 are starting from $250 while the prices for a new unlocked BlackBerry Curve 8900 are starting from $275 so the you can say that the money are not a problem taking this decision.
