Nokia N97 vs BlackBerry Curve 8900

By Netoiu Andrei | March 7, 2010

th Nokia N97 vs BlackBerry Curve 8900Here we are continuing our comparison between Nokia N97 and BlackBerry products. This is the second article from this series of comparisons and this time we will compare the Nokia N97 to BlackBerry Curve 8900. The obvious difference is the interface namely that Nokia N97 has a touch screen while BlackBerry Curve 8900 doesn’t but both phones are having a physical full qwerty keyboard as you can see.

More exactly, Nokia N97 is featuring a 3.5” 640x360 pixels screen while the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is featuring a 2.4” 480x360 pixels screen. I don’t know if you noticed but at all comparisons that I made, Nokia have always won.

I have to say that I just saw in reality a BlackBerry Curve 8900 and it was really sweet and slim and from what I see in photos, Nokia N97 looks like if you put it in your pants, you are risking to remain without pants on you.

Here is another chapter where Nokia N97 is always winning namely that it comes with 32 GB of internal memory while BlackBerry Curve 8900 doesn’t get an internal memory at all but both phones are having a microSD slot car.

I saw that most of you are not interested about this but there may still be some people looking for this. What I want to say is that Nokia N97 has an ARM11 CPU processor of 434 Mhz while BlackBerry Curve 8900 has a processor of 512 Mhz. Also, both phones are having 128 MB of RAM memory.

Also, both phones are featuring GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity which are probably the most common features from Nokia and BlackBerry.

Now is happening an exception because BlackBerry was usually having a bigger battery but this time it features a 1320 mAh battery while Nokia N97 has a really good 1500 mAh battery.

Nokia N97 has a 5 MP camera while BlackBerry Curve 8900 has a 3.1 MP camera but don’t expect to be a big difference because we’re talking about phones and not camera photos.

This is the last time when I say it because it is no sense to repeat it. I like much more the home screen of Nokia N97 than the home screen of BlackBerry Curve 8900.

As usually, Nokia N97 is heavier weighting 150 grams while BlackBerry Curve 8900 weights 108.9 grams.

That’s it with this panoramic comparison between these two smart phones. If you’re looking for more comparisons, read the previous articles or keep reading this blog for daily comparisons.
