QR Code Scanner Pro for BlackBerry

Today I had a lot of fun with some friends with QR codes. I have seen a lot of QR codes in many places either that I noticed there are some countries where the QR codes are used everywhere because they are also very funny. Imagine a big banner having just a QR code. It’s also very funny to see people that don’t know what a QR code is, looking at such an ad.

Well, in such a case, it’s very helpful to have a QR code scanner on your device and it’s also very funny to have a QR code creator to share with your friends. I just posted a QR code that I created with a QR code creator app from my phone either that I use a total different platform, there are QR code scanners and also QR code creators for all platforms.

Well, this is a QR code scanner for BlackBerry and if it’s still not obvious for you, this app uses your BlackBerry camera to scan the QR codes in your life and to show you what the QR code shows.

This is a pro app but the developers made it free on the App World.

Analog theme for BlackBerry

I have to say I can’t believe I haven’t seen this theme until now on the elecite website. When I saw it today, I thought it was something new because somehow, I saw it in the latest themes tab but when I looked at the launch date, I saw that it was released at the end of 2009.

Analog Theme Analog theme for BlackBerry

Anyway, as you can see, the theme is called Analog and you might notice why they called it that way because it kind of has some analog “clocks” for battery and signal. The fun part at this theme is that it doesn’t have an analog clock for the actual clock but I don’t think that matters so much because this theme is gorgeous and also very unique in the whole BlackBerry themes market out there.

I think that this theme fits best on a BlackBerry Storm, but in the end, any theme would look much better on a Storm because of its bigger screen and probably because themes look much better in portrait mode than in the wide mode but that doesn’t mean that if you have a full QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry, you won’t enjoy this theme.

This theme costs $6.99 and you can get it from here.

What is Blackberry ID?

This news is rather old, but some of my friends doesn't know about it yet, so i decide to post this article. Why do we have to create Blackberry ID?
 What is Blackberry ID?

Since BlackBerry App World 2.0, users are now required to create a Blackberry ID. A BlackBerry ID gives you convenient access to multiple BlackBerry products, including BlackBerry® Protect and BlackBerry App World. After you create a BlackBerry ID, you can use a single email address and password to log in to any BlackBerry product that supports BlackBerry ID. BlackBerry ID is your single, master key to BlackBerry® products, sites, services and applications, including BlackBerry® Protect™ and the BlackBerry® App World™ storefront. BlackBerry ID: One login. One password. One less thing to worry about.

Blackberry App World 1.1 No Longer Supported

blackberry app world Blackberry App World 1.1 No Longer Supported

Yesterday, my colleague asked me why she got this message :

“You must upgrade your client in order to continue”

She was asked to upgrade her Blackberry App World. Turns out she didn't know that her version of Blackberry App World, which is still 1.1, is no longer supported and required to upgrade to the latest version of BlackBerry App World. (Yes, she is the type of user that seldom upgrade unless she have to). So i told her to upgrade her App World. I'll share it again here in this post.

Caller ID Reader app review

I have to say that I have a blind uncle and when you’re blind, it’s obviously that many problems occur. One of them is when using a phone but some people already thought about this problem and kind of solved it.

Caller ID Reader Caller ID Reader app review

There are phones which can read the clock and even the caller ID out loud. Well, this app helps your BlackBerry to do that. Well, you don’t have to be blind to need to use this app. I saw some people using this feature in a situation when they just don’t want to get to the phone to see the caller’s ID.

Of course that it also matters to be a good app because in some cases, you won’t understand anything. Anyway, some people do and some don’t. This problem also occurs because in all cases, the developer optimizes the voice for only one language and in most cases, it’s English but let’s say English is not your natal language so when someone calls you with a German name for example, it won’t have any chance to read it correct. Anyway, it has quite a high rate so it must be worth spending some time trying it.

The app is free so you can go and check it out in the app world.

Battery Watch app for BlackBerry

This is that kind of app that I think any phone should have in it. I remember when I had an old cheap Samsung but it was still telling me the percentage of battery and an estimation of how long it’s going to last.

Battery Watch Battery Watch app for BlackBerry

This app does quite the same thing but there are also some added features like the battery temperature. I never thought you could know the temperature of your phone’s battery but that’s very useful because as an example, my phone is heating a lot when I’m playing on it for a long while or when I just use its resources a lot. That also happens when I use the GPS.

This app allows you to know how much percentage of your battery you got left but also how much time you can use that percentage. Through time, this app also makes some graphics but I don’t see how is this going to help you because you won’t lose less or more the apps you’re usually using. The last thing I want to mention is that you also get informed about the battery’s voltage but again, I don’t think this would help you, it would only inform you.

You can get the app from the app world for free.
