DailyHoroscope – app review

First, I have to say that I’m very surprised to see that such an app, would reach the top entertainment category. Even better, this app ranks the first in the entertainment’s category top which is a very interesting thing.

dailyhoroscope DailyHoroscope app review

Apparently, this is a very wanted app because there are many people wanting to know how their day will go on. I have to say that I personally don’t know absolutely no person who checks the horoscope daily. I did that just a few times before because I was curious but that was all of it because I don’t believe in these things but let’s not talk about that right now.

The design is basically just plain text but it still looks ok. Either that you check your horoscope daily, as far as I know, it doesn’t take too much to do that so you don’t really need a really great design as I always say that you need from an app that you spend a lot of time with it.

The app is free so if you usually check your horoscope, I suggest you to get it and check it by yourself to see if it’s worth to use. You can get it from here.

5001 Amazing Facts – app review

I never thought I would ever say about such an app that it’s so fun to use. Yes. I’m talking about a facts app. I have to say that I firstly tested it before on a different platform and yes, for a while it seemed to be fun but after a while it wasn’t anymore but I just saw another app like that one in the app world so I got one for my phone too.

5001 Amazing Facts 5001 Amazing Facts app review

If you’re that kind of person who enjoys watching Discovery or National Geographic or better said, a person who enjoys watch documentaries, this is an app for you. It has some really interesting apps or at least this is what it proves with the screenshots from the link I also provided below.

If you get bored somewhere, you could just use your phone to entertain yourself with an app about cool facts. Actually, I don’t think there is a person who doesn’t enjoy hearing such interesting stuff. I have to say that this app also has a really cool design which is another good thing. I love the apps with cool designs which are used for reading different stuff.

The app is free and you can get it from here.

Mr. Number Call Block – app review

Honestly, I always wished such an app for my phone and I honestly never thought I’d be able to find it for free. The title of this app is basically telling everything it can do but I will try to explain that to you by myself.

Mr. Number call block Mr. Number Call Block app review

Yes, it is a phone caller blocker but you can also block text messages. I never thought such a thing would be possible to make. For example, on internet, you can block any person on any social website but you can’t block it from calling you. Maybe there are some carriers giving that service but I never heard such a thing.

Anyway, that doesn’t matter anymore because you can use this free app to block any person from calling and texting you. You can also block everyone and just allow a few people adding them to the white list. You can also block area codes.

Another thing I really like about it is that it’s also blocking spam callers and texts which is a great one. They could’ve made a different app for that and they could even sell it because I think there would still be people buying it.

As I said, the app is free and you can get it from here.

BlackBerry Traffic – app review

This is that kind of app that makes your life easier only in this case, this app makes your life a lot easier or at least, that’s what it’s supposed to do if it does exactly what the developers mentioned in the description.

BlackBerry Traffic BlackBerry Traffic app review

I bet that you have to live in certain countries or regions to be able to use all of its functions but I think that a part of them can be used anywhere.

As they mentioned in the description, this app tells you if you’re going to arrive on time to a certain destination. For example, you have to go to someone and you need to arrive there in a certain period of time. In that case, this app allows you to pick that person’s address from your contacts and then it calculates the time that you’ll get there. It also tells you if there are some roads closed but as I said, I think this feature is only available to certain countries and / or regions.

I also want to mention that this app has 3.5/5 stars which I quite a good rate thinking about what it’s capable of, being free of charge. You can download it from here.

Echo theme review

Elecite just released a new theme and I have to say that I’m very excited about it because they seem to make better and better themes for BlackBerrys and this theme that we’re going to talk about will prove that.

echo Echo theme review

First I have to start this review as they started the description. You need to have the OS 5.0 on your phone to install this theme so be aware if you want to buy it.

Second, I have to say that the design of this theme is awesome. At the same time, I can say this theme is simple but it also has some really cool details. Maybe they organized this theme a little bit too well which might be the reason why it looks so good. I have to say that this theme reminds me the Windows Phone 7’s look. I’m not saying that they copied the WP7’s look but if you like the WP7’s look, you can try this theme, you might like this one too.

I also like the icons they designed for the menu. I can say that they look quite the same because all of them are colored in gray which is a very fancy thing.

The theme costs $6.99 and you can buy it from here.

Review: Phones 4U with Blackberry Phones for you

As I was talking in the past, the BlackBerry Torch had a very big release, there are a lot of people who heard about it, even who ever had any RIM product but most of them are smartphone owners.

We all know that RIM made a very good job with this new phone. They made something unique that was never done before. Yes, I know there are a lot of other touchscreen smartphones with a full physical QWERTY keyboard too but all of those phones have the sliding keyboard at one side while at the BlackBerry Torch, the keyboard pops out from below.

I recommend you watching YouTube reviews and unboxing videos to make a better idea about this phone and to realize if it’s really worth it thinking about what you need from a smartphone and what does this phone actually “do”.

You can also read our little preview, just use the search box from the bottom right corner and see the articles where we talked about this phone.

If you want or if you really are at the moment a Vodafone or orange customer and you’re also an UK citizen, you can try to buy this phone from Phones 4U.

The O2 Blackberry phones

Today I’m going to talk to you about the O2 phones. No, I didn’t forget that this is a blog about BlackBerry smartphones so I should just tell you by now that we’re going to talk about the O2 BlackBerrys.

Before doing that, I want to make some things clear for you namely that O2 is a free voicemail that you pay monthly, it’s an UK-based customer service, it was voted best operator of 2008 and they also offer access to priority tickets for the O2 arena. I need you to know that I picked those details from a list of why to choose O2.

Besides those things, you need to know that they have a page where they show us their best O2 deals and the top 2 phones over there are the BB Torch and the Curve 9300 with 3G. For both of those phones, you get in plus 500 minutes and unlimited texts for £25.53 which is not too much at all. Unfortunately, as you can see you have to be an UK citizen to be able to become a client. The thing is that you get awesome mobile phone offers if you try dialaphone.

PlayBook review

If you're a RIM fan, you probably already heard about the new tablet they launched. It's called the PlayBook and it's not just another tablet on the market, it stands out quite a lot and you'll see why. Honestly, I never thought that there will be an iPad competitor that will get so close to the iPad. If you ask me, the best iPad killer is the PlayBook.

I also never thought that people will be so excited about this tablet. I know this tablet is very important, much important than the new BlackBerry Torch and will probably be much important than the BlackBerry Storm 3 too because it brings something new in the tablet market and you'll see what specifically in the specs I added to the post below.

The tablet is only 7" wide and I honestly think that that's a little too low but thanks God it doesn't have the format of the Samsung's tablet because it would really look like a giant phone then. Anyway, they made it that big to be portable.

It also has a front facing camera which is very good aspect because you can make video chats like so. This became a must have on the tablets these days.

Unfortunately, the apps from the BlackBerrys doesn't work at all on the PlayBook but soon, there will be plenty of apps for it too.

Fortunately, it has another OS than the BlackBerry phones so they didn't take the Samsung's example of taking the Android OS which wasn't optimised for tablets on a tablet. The main reason of why so many people talk about this tablet and why it is so special is because it has a dual core 1GHz processor which is quite big for a tablet and never seen before on another tablet. You also get 1GB of RAM memory which should make this table real fast.

Now people expect from it to be the God of all tablets and I have to say that I've seen a lot of clips on youtube with it and if it isn't that good, at least it gets closer.

It has a 3MP front facing camera and a 5MP rear facing camera and it supports 1080p HD recording video. It also weights around a pound which is not too much, it's enough foor its sizes comparing to the other tablets I guess. Here are the full specifications of this tablet:

  • 7-inch LCD, 1024 x 600, WSVGA, capacitive touch screen with full multi-touch and gesture support
  • BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording
  • Video playback: 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
  • Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA
  • HDMI video output
  • Wi-Fi - 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Connectors: microHDMI, microUSB, charging contacts
  • Open, flexible application platform with support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe Mobile AIR, Adobe Reader, POSIX, OpenGL, Java
  • Ultra thin and portable:
  • Measures 5.1"x7.6"x0.4" (130mm x 193mm x 10mm)
  • Weighs less than a pound (approximately 0.9 lb or 400g)
  • RIM intends to also offer 3G and 4G models in the future.

BlackBerry Pearl: Knit one, Pearl two

How many of us have second phones?

In some professions it’s almost standard, you’d be hard pushed to find a journalist with less than two phones, for example. The same goes for agents and salespeople, actors and anyone who’s self employed. The fact is that anyone who wants to be contactable but have the luxury of being able to easily separate business and pleasure should consider a second phone almost essential to helping them do this.

Of course, we all have different requirements for a second phone. It is obviously frivolous to have two top line phones at once, and even those who do need two phones don’t want a pair of iPhone 4s or dual HTC Desires.

There are clearly conflicting needs to be considered when choosing a second phone: which of your phones needs the higher functionality? Some might need their work handset to only make calls and as such want their personal device to do more for them. Others – the self employed, perhaps – will want their business phones to do everything for them, in which case a more modest second phone seems more appropriate.

The point is that whatever the requirements, the BlackBerry Pearl can back up a superior phone in admirable fashion. Indeed, the Stylish looks and impressive capabilities – including the easy-to-use Optical Trackpad and ubiquitous BlackBerry Messenger system – make it an appealing option.

The Pearl’s call quality is adequate, and, as with all BlackBerrys, the email functionality is excellent. While it lacks the QWERTY keyboard, the Pearl is absolutely comfortable sending and receiving emails from multiple accounts.

On the flip side, the Pearl holds its own as a basic personal phone in the modern market. Its 3.2mp camera works well for a phone this size and its media playback capabilities have no doubt improved with age.

The Pearl offers the best of both worlds, good – if not great – functionality, as well as cost effectiveness, make it an essential consideration for anybody in the market for a second phone.

The BlackBerry Torch – built for social networking

If you are a social media fan and love to tweet about what’s going on in your life or you are alternatively constantly checking and updating your Facebook page then the all-new Blackberry Torch is the phone for you. You can catch up with the world of Facebook whilst in the park, on the train or even abroad.

The Blackberry Torch also allows users to network with potential clients via LinkedIn. You'll find applications for all your much-loved social networking sites on the BlackBerry Torch, making viewing them as easy as the touch of a button. You can also effortlessly switch between either applications at ease as there is now no need to shut one down in order to use the other.

Another great feature is that users are able to share images easily, such as holiday photos; these can easily be uploaded from the beach or the poolside, whilst everyone else is back at home.

Staying in touch with BlackBerry Messenger has never been easier and just like all BlackBerry smartphone models; users are able to chat to your mates, family and work colleagues instantly, this is made possible by using BlackBerry Messenger. With a BlackBerry smartphone such a process is in fact faster than sending a text, especially when using the slide-out QWERTY keypad.

The Blackberry Torch offers a total of 8 GB of memory; this however is expandable up to 32 GB with the addition of a microSD card, allowing the user to store all their favourite photos, music, files and contacts all on the one handset.

The enhanced music player is now a full-featured music player all thanks to the BlackBerry 6 and a large touch screen, which allows you to view all full album art and also all the track listings. This allows the user to glance through all their favourite songs quickly and at ease.

To find out more information about the Blackberry Torch, visit Phones 4 u and read the full review online.
