A group of hackers attacked the Blackberry website, after the company announced that it will help police to investigate the violence in the UK, reports BBC News Online. The group, called Team Poison, pirated the official blog of the Blackberry, posting a message in which they threatened the company with reprisals if they will give to the authority the user data.
According to information, Blackberry's instant messaging service, would have been used by some participants in the robberies in the UK in order to plan the heist. The company promised to cooperate with police and Interior Ministry. Team Poison said that they do not approve attacking innocent people or small shops in the violence. "We are all in favor of protestors who engage in attacks on police and government," said the group.
Hackers have argued that if Blackberry will give to the authority the user data, innocent people could be targeted. "Members of the public, who were in the wrong place at the wrong time and had a Blackberry, could be accused without reason" reads the statement.
Due to a decrease in market share, the BlackBerry is quick to launch three new terminals. They should at least approach the level specifications of current top models with Android or Symbian. BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 terminal is the thinnest RIM signed phone, with only 10.5 mm thick. It comes with the new BlackBerry OS 7 operating system, which runs on a 1.2 GHz processor.
Torch BlackBerry 9860 is a smartphone running the new OS 7 on a 3.7 inch screen, the largest offered by RIM to date. Motorization is given by the same Qualcomm processor at 1.2 GHz, and the camera is identical to that of Touch Bold 9900. It is equipped with 4 GB storage space, which can be expanded with a microSD card. With a thickness of 11.5 mm, Torch BlackBerry 9860 weighs 135 g.
For the U.S. mobile provider AT & T, RIM will launch BlackBerry Torch 9810. This is a QWERTY slider with a 3.2 inch screen showing the VGA resolution. In terms of equipment, it is almost identical to the Touch Bold 9900, running the same OS, namely BlackBerry OS 7.
BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Touch 9860 will be available in Europe in September.
It's almost official: the next BlackBerry smartphone, which the Canadians from Research in Motion will launch on the market in 2012 will actually be a "superphone" which will run on a QNX operating system for tablets(also used by BlackBerry Playbook).
The operating system was developed by producing the same name and was adopted by RIM after its purchase last year. The Canadians have also announced that the OS will be used from now on, on all its mobile handsets. Like other "traditional" BlackBerry products, the Colt will offer the famous QWERTY keyboard and fulltouch screen support. In contrast, however, to other recent smartphone devices, Colt will have a single-core processor at 1.2 GHz or 1.5 - which gives the device a handicap start compared to the competing products with Android OS, which are equipped with multi-core processors.
The BlackBerry Colt handset is already in the pre-release stage, subject to verification tests in RIM's software department .
Canadian company Research In Motion announced the largest smartphone launch in its history, five new models, informs Le Monde. These are two BlackBerry Bold models and three BlackBerry Torch models. RIM didn't specify the exact date, but said that more than 225 distribution partners have begun or completed the certification of the new devices, for recovery of lost ground to the iPhone.
Data from the passed month showed that the iPhone is more use than the BlackBerry in the United States. Regarding operating systems, the BlackBerry has 24.7% market share after Google with Android 38.1% and iOS from Apple with 26.6%. In February, the BlackBerry was the second after Android, with almost 30 percent. However, a French newspaper commented, that BlackBerry markets continue to gain ground in Africa and the Middle East.
The launch of new models announcement comes after the Canadian group announced the liquidation of two thousand jobs, meaning 11% of hi's herd. But the game could not be gained for BlackBerry. In the fall, Apple will launch iPhone 5, and the Android phone manufacturers such as Motorola will launch new models themselves.

This is also a technical comparison, because while Samsung Exhibit 4G was already been launched, the Blackberry Torch 9850 is still preparing its release.
The dimensions are a little different, Blackberry measuring 120 x 62 x 11.5 mm and weighting 135 g, while Samsung measures 119 x 58 x 13 mm and weights 125 g. So, there is a little difference, Blackberry being a little heavier and at the same time bigger.
Regarding the display, besides the fact that Samsung's screen is AMOLED, Blackberry has a 3.7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels, while Samsung has a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels. That takes us to the camera chapter, where Blackberry wins, with a 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, with autofocus compared to Samsung's 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, with LED flash.
Another difference is the CPU memory: Blackberry is equipped with a 1.2 GHz processor, wile Samsung has a 1 GHz processor. So in the end, I would choose Blackberry Torch 9850 instead of Samsung Exhibit 4G, but that is only me.
This is a initial and purely technical comparison between Blackberry Torch 9860 and LG Optimus Black P970.
Concerning the size, the 2 phones are approximately the same: Blackberry has 120 x 62 x 11.5 mm and weights 135 g, and LG has 122 x 64 x 9.2 mm and weights 109 g. Resulting that Blackberry is heavier and LG is bigger.Regarding the display, Blackberry is equipped with a 3,7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels, which is kind of weaker compared to the 4 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixels that LG has.
The advantage for Blackberry is the internal memory, being equipped with a 4 GB storage with 768 MB RAM, which is bigger then LG's 2 GB storage (1 GB user-available) and 512 MB RAM. The rest of the features are approximately the same, except Blackberry looses ground in front of the 2 MP secondary camera that LG has , but recuperates with the 1.2 GH processor, because LG has only 1 GH.
The list can go on, but util Blackberry Torch 9860 will be available, the comparison with LG Optimus Black P970 is only a technical one.
David Lammy, Member of British Parliament from the Tottenham district, where they held the most violent incidents in recent days, asked the BlackBerry manufacturer, the company Research in Motion, to suspend the BlackBerry Messenger, which had contributed the most, to organize robberies in London and other British cities.
"BlackBerry Messenger is one reason that some criminals have managed to fool small sophisticated features of the police as BBM service is encrypted, and the police can't have access to it," said Lammy. Many thieves have studded British city streets, that they wanted to rob, prefer BBM to other social networking services, like Twitter, because broadcast messages are encrypted and private, but at the same time can be easily transmitted to more individuals, even entire groups. The company Research in Motion said it would cooperate with the police, but refused to say whether they will provide passwords and user data to the authorities.
Police initially checked Twitter and Facebook to find the participants and organizers. But Jonathan Akwue, a media strategist in London, was among the first who wrote about the possible role of BlackBerry Messenger, known as BBM, in the organized acts of violence.
Akwue explained on his blog that BBM was adopted because it is an instant messaging system, becoming popular because it's fast, free and, unlike Twitter or Facebook is private. He points out that it is not the first time that private communications on the BBM, which aren't intercepted by police, are related to crime.
BBM was used by Mark Duggan, the young man shot by police whose death is at the root of the violence, sending his last message. "The agents are following me" he wrote to his girlfriend, according to the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. In a BBC interview, a police officer said that online tools are responsible for the violence on Sunday, but has not nominated a specific service.
BlackBerry App World recently launched two great Spring Themes for Blackberry devices running on Blackberry OS 5 . Roots of Spring and Spring Blossom are compatible on all models of BlackBerry smartphones including the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and other devices on OS 5.0. Both Roots of Spring and Spring Blossom are designed in vibrant colors with interesting icons.
And that is not all. Both of the themes are alive, they look fantastic and they don't load up the desktop or the menu. The special thing about it, is the combination of colors, and pieces. Another plus is that these themes make your desktop very spacious, clean and natural. They are especially made for Blackberry so that means that they fit perfectly.
I've tried them both on my Blackberry and I can't get board of them. Both Roots of Spring and Spring Blossom are excellent themes for your Blackberry smartphone.
